The combination of the two machining types “milling” and “eroding” was introduced into modern manufacture as late as 2010. The service life of these components, which used to be cast or welded, was limited, and sometimes, depending on the coolant used, they even broke prematurely. Today, we use in our manufacture a forged ring, preturned, premilled, eroded and polished, which achieves a very satisfactory, even excellent result.
These fan wheels are installed in large generators with an output of over 1000 MW.
